நெல்லிக்காயரிட்டம்

நெல்லிக்காயரிட்டம் nellikkāyariṭṭam, பெ. (n.)

   நெல்லிக்காய்ச் சாற்றுடன் தேன், திப்பிலி, சருக்கரை சேர்த்துக் கொதிக்க வைத்துச் சாடியில் ஊற்றிச் சில நாள் புளிக்க வைத்து எடுக்கும் மருந்து. இது காமாலை, வயிற்று வலி, இருமல் முதலியவற்றைக் குணமாக்கும்; fermented liquor of emblic myrobalan is prepared as follows, fresh juice of the fruit mixed with 1/8 quantity of honey, powdered long pepper and sugar is boiled sufficiently for a while and than allowed to ferment in an earthern jar. It is prescribed for jaundice, dyspepsia, indigestion, cough etc. (சா.அக.);.
